Anthony Palmer Collings
Profile & Legacies Summary
1753 - 1809
Biography
Collector of Customs at Bristol. He appears to have come into co-ownership of the Spring estate through his marriage in 1790 at Bristol to Joanna Clark (nee Stratton).
- Will of Anthony Palmer Collings of Westbury-on-Trym proved 15/09/1809. In the will he instructed his wife and trustees to sell all the unspecified property included in their marriage settlement. Separately, he left in trust other property including his interest in the Flat Holme lighthouse to accumulate to give £1500 to each of his children. The will does not mention the Spring estate, although it might have been subsumed in the marriage settlement he mentioned.
