Biography

Son of Charles Long of Hurts Hall (q.v.), from whom he inherited Norbrook.

Will of Charles Long of Saxmundham Suffolk [made in 1810] proved 29/01/1813. In the will he left his property in trust, with a sub-trust for his Jamaica property and Hurts Hall, to support an annuity of £200 p.a. for his wife Jane Long, for the benefit of his brother Dudley North (ne Long) for life, with remainder to his wife, and then to Dudley North's children, with remainder to [the testator's first cousin] Beeston Long for life and then Beeston Long's son William. In a codicil he left £3000 to Charles Lee of Kingston now or late clerk to Messrs Robertson & Co.
