Associated Estates (2)

The dates listed below have different categories as denoted by the letters in the brackets following each date. Here is a key to explain those letter codes:

  • SD - Association Start Date
  • SY - Association Start Year
  • EA - Earliest Known Association
  • ED - Association End Date
  • EY - Association End Year
  • LA - Latest Known Association
1819 [EA] - → Not known

This entry in the 1820 Jamaica Almanac appears anomalous, as does the entry in the same JA for Norbrook, shown against 'Hamilton, Robert and others'. Hamilton's estate was shown before and after 1820 as owned by the Hamilton family; Norbrook before and after 1820 against members of the Long family. LBS' tentative conclusion is that either the 1820 Jamaica Almanac or the transcription of it transposed the owners of Hamilton's and Norbrook.

1815 [EA] - 1828 [LA] → Tenant-for-life

Known to have inherited as tenant-for-life from his brother Charles Long of Saxmundham.
