???? - 1830
Louis Bazalgette made his fortune as tailor to the Prince of Wales in the 1780s and 1790s and then branched out into money-lending and invested in the West India and East India trades. Louis left personalty of £250,000 at his death. Louis's estate was the subject of protracted legal wrangling after his death in 1830 as Evelyn Bazalgette (as executor) attempted to recover the outstanding debts owed to his father. Evelyn Bazalgette claimed compensation as a creditor of the estate of Anthony Gilbert Storer (q.v.) in the case of Storer v. Bazalgette.
