Biography

Owner of Taylor's Caymanas in St Thomas-in-the-East, Jamaica. Deceased by 1752.

  1. Member of Assembly for St James in 1726.

  2. George De Lapierre, son of George Hanbury Taylor and his wife Mary, baptised 02/06/1726 in St Thomas-in-the-East, Jamaica. Another daughter of George Hanbury Taylor, Miss Mary Taylor, died 26/07/1745 age 14 years; her monumental inscription in Kingston Churchyard includes that of George Taylor, son of Parick Taylor, who died 09/07/1749 age 1 year.

  3. Patrick Taylor, executor of George Hanbury Taylor, was probably also a relation. Patrick Taylor's surname was originally Tailzour and he came from Borrowfield in Forfar, Scotland, assuming the surname Taylor when married Martha, daughter of George Taylor of Caymanas. Patrick and Martha Taylor were the parents of Simon Taylor (1740-1813, q.v.).
