Biography

Son of Sir Michael Stewart 3rd bart, and uncle of Sir Michael Shaw Stewart 5th bart. Married Frances, the widow of Sir James Maxwell of Pollok and daughter of Robert Colhoun or Colquhoun of St Kitts in 1786. MP for Renfrewshire 1780-1783 and 1786-1796.
