Biography

Resident slave-owner in Jamaica, reportedly dying at sea c. 1762. Inherited salt River estate in Westmoreland (along with three of his sons and another relative) from his uncle William Dorrill.

Christopher Senior was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 4036 acres of land in Westmoreland.

Christophe Senior of Westmoreland, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1764. Slave-ownership at probate: 407 of whom 199 were listed as male and 208 as female. 0 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £27,626.57 Jamaican currency of which £23,760 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £0 currency debts and £73.50 currency plate.
