Resident slave-owner on Jamaica, son of Christopher Senior (d. c. 1762), husband of Mary Lawrence and father of Christopher Senior Lawrence, Gilbert William and Sarah Jane Keith Senior. Inherited a share in Salt River estate in Westmoreland from his great-uncle William Dorrill. Owner of Lancet Hall in St Ann at the time of his death c. 1778.
Gilbert Senior contributed £20 to the University of Pennsylvania following Dr John Morgan's fundraising tour of the West Indies in 1772-1773.

Slave-ownership at probate: 21 of whom 16 were listed as male and 5 as female. 0 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £2344 Jamaican currency of which £1920 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £0 currency debts and £20 currency plate.
