Margaret Tayler, daughter of Thomas Weir Tayler, owner of Auchenbeddie (then in St Elizabeth), and Ann Pierce, "a free mulatto", born 03/04/1790 and baptised 21/10/1790 in St Elizabeth, Jamaica, the same day as her mother and her sister Elizabeth. Married William Ashton of St John in Newport at St Mary Magdalene Church in Lincoln, 28/11/1814. Described as Mrs. Margaret Ashton of the city of Lincoln in her father's will, written 1819. A daughter, Frances, was baptised in the same church to William and Margaret Ashton in January 1815. Two more children, Eliza Ann and Cordelia, baptised in 1816 and 1818 in St John in Newport, Lincolnshire, when William Ashton's occupation was given as mason. Cordelia died in 1820.
