24th Mar 1777 - 1850
Son of Robert Jackson and nephew and legatee of John Jackson of Fulham (each of whom q.v.). Born 24/03/1777 and baptised six days later in St James, Jamaica, son of Robert Jackson and his wife Sarah Ann. He moved to Australia c. 1825. His son John Alexander Jackson has an entry as 'public servant and colonial agent' in the Australian Dictionary of Biography, which attributes his father's migration to the inadequacy of the income from a 'valuable paternal estate in Scotland' and describes John Serocold Jackson as 'totally useless' in his position as acting barrack-master in Sydney.
