Biography
- Will of Mary Colleton Roach widow of Barbados proved 24/07/1807. She left monetary legacies of more than £19000 currency and several groups of enslaved people: 'Billy (by trade cooper) Betsey and Mary Ann (women)' to Elizabeth Mashurst [?] Campion; 'Dicky (a man) Lettice, Thomasina and Melia (women)' to Mary Christian Campion; and Boatswain and James to George Barclay. She manumitted an enslaved woman called Molly and left her four enslaved women Hester Pallas Molly her daughter and Ninah. Mary Colleton Roach's property in Barbados appeared to be urban, her 'place' at Allgate and a house in George Street.
