Born 1743, son of Captain James Mill (or Milne) of Old Montrose, Dysart and Lauriston (1708-1783) and his wife Elizabeth nee Scott. Died 1777 in Antigua.
Will of David Mill or Mills late Governor of Cape Coast Castle in Africa but now of Antigua proved 14/08/1777. Under the will he desired that 'all the free back men I brought with me' be returned to their own country at the expense of his estate. He left £200 to a mulatto man named John Hippesly then in Great Britain and £200 to Mary Burke daughter of Walter Burke of Antigua. The rest of his estate he left to his brother Hercules Mills [sic].
