???? - 1759
Will of Stapleton Dunbar [late of the island of Nevis but now of Great Britain] proved 21/03/1760. He confirmed [but did not set out the terms of] a previous settlement or deed of 1759 which covered the Mountain estate 'formerly the inheritance of my wife's mother' and his own estate on the Lower Ground of Indian Village or Dimbersdale [?], both on Nevis, and included an annuity of £50 p.a. to Stapleton Dunbar the grandson of Robert Bowles of Titchfield Street. He signalled that he was entitled to considerable personal estate though his wife, which he left to her on condition that she avoided intestacy [when her personalty would pass to her family, who had scandalously used him] and instead executed a deed disposing of the personalty or put it into the improvement of his own purchased real estate. He was, he said, considerably indebted to his brother John Dunbar and others.
