31st Dec 1789 - 26th Nov 1850
A younger son of George Nugent-Temple, 1st Marquess of Buckingham and Lady Mary Elizabeth Nugent, only daughter and heiress of Robert Nugent, 1st Earl Nugent. His mother was the half-sister of Sir George Nugent (1757-1849), Governor of Jamaica.
Included here because Judd lists him as a 'West Indian' MP. However, he was a radical Whig and, among other things, was a strong opponent of slavery. For example, in January 1826 he chaired an anti-slavery meeting in Buckingham and became President of the local Anti-Slavery Society.
Although his brother owned enslaved people, it is not obvious why Judd lists him as a West Indian MP.
