Biography

Grandson and co-heir of John Mills of Woodford (q.v.). On his death c. 1787 his property including his interest in estates in the West indies passed to his brother John Compton (d. c. 1803) and thence to John's son Henry Combe Compton (q.v.) .

  1. Will of Henry Compton of Hanbridge [sic: in fact Harbridge] Hampshire [made in 1782] proved 23/01/1787. In the will he left all his property including his reversionary interests to his brother John subject to an annuity of £100 p.a. to their brother Willett Compton.
