Biography

Sarah Keir registered enslaved people in Kingston in 1823 as trustee of Frances Molony and Mary Ann Dewhurst, received by gift from Elizabeth Keir.

Francis Molony, son of Elizabeth Keir, a "free quadroon", and David [sic] Patrick Molony Esquire, baptised in Kingston 18/11/1818 aged about 21 months. Mary Ann Dewhurst, daughter of Elizabeth Keir, a "free quadroon", and John Dewhurst, born 13/05/1812 and baptised 12/09/1813 in Kingston.

Sarah and Elizabeth Keir were probably sisters. Elizabeth Keir (born 26/12/1784 and baptised 05/03/1785 in Kingston) and Sarah keir (born 17/01/1787 and baptised 09/07/1787 in Kingston) were both the daughters of Charlotte Nimms, a "free mulatto woman" and George Keir.
