Rev. William Woodward

???? - 1786

Biography

Anglican clergyman and annuitant of estates and enslaved people in Jamaica.

  1. Will of William Woodward clerk of Uckfied proved 24/05/1786. In the will he left to his daughter Sarah an annuity of £100 p.a. payable out of an estate in Jamaica and secured by grant for the lives of his daughter Sarah and his brother John Woodward and for the longer-lived of them. The estate was almost certainly Richmond: a group of annuitants of William Gray on Richmond (including Rev. William Woodward of Uckfield) reached agreement with Emanuel Baruch Lousada and Jacob Israel Bernal 13/10/1784 for the payment of their annuities to which the two estates [Old and New Works] were subject on their purchase by Lousada and Bernal.
