Slave-owner on Nevis, apparently resident, husband of Frances Webbe through whom he came to own the New River estate. He mortgaged the estate to William Blomberg (his son-in-law) in 1767 for £5000 and borrowed a further £6000 from his widowed daughter Ann Blomberg (later Nisbett) in 1775.
