Biography

Son of Richard Holmes (d. c. 1725) and Susannah nee Lambert, who remarried John Douglas of St Kitts. Richard Holmes (d. c. 1725) had left him a share in the College and New Invention estates in the French Quarter of St Kitts.

  1. Will of Richard Holmes Esq. of East Socon, Bedfordshire [made in September 1756] proved 09/02/1757. In the will he left all his property in St Kitts and England to his brother [in fact half-brother] John St Leger Douglas (q.v.).
