Thomas Foster Barham

1766 - 1844

Biography

London West India merchant, partner in Plummer & Barham until 1802.

  1. Thomas Foster Barham is in the ODNB as 'writer'; there are also entries for four of Thomas Foster Barham's sons. The entry for Thomas Foster Barham says 'he became associated with the mercantile house of Plummer' (q.v.) but makes no allusion to slavery or to Jamaica in his case - it does give his brother Joseph Foster Barham as 'slave-owner and politician'; three entries for his sons describe the father as 'musician and writer' or 'writer' and in one case as 'of independent means.'

  2. Will of Thomas Foster Barham of Leskinnick near Penzance proved 06/05/1844.
