Merchant in Jamaica, dying in St David's in 1798. Father of Edward Croasdaile (q.v.), and probably the brother of the London Army Agent Despard Croasdaile (whose will proved 27/02/1819 refers to his brother Richard who had died in Jamaica). According to Kathleen Monteith, Richard Croasdaile established the Friendship's Retreat coffee plantation in 1784 with 20 enslaved people.
