'His first wife, who died s.p. 1819, was the daughter of _____Despard of Golden Square.' Married secondly Elizabeth Dillon Rosina, daughter of David Byron Davies of New Battle, St David.
Matriculated at the University of Glasgow in 1793; graduated M.D. from the University of Edinburgh in 1799. Third son of Richard, a merchant in Jamaica.
