George Griffin of Lincolns Inn

???? - 1802

Biography

Legatee of William Smith of Grenada under whose will he inherited a share in the Diamond estate. He died in 1802: to date LBS has found no will for him or established his connection to William Smith. If the GM death-notice below was correct, he was the son of Thomas Griffin, MP for Arundel 1754-1761, who has an entry in the ODNB as 'naval officer and politician' and whose will certainly identified a youngest son George Griffin.

  1. 17 [December 1802] at Newton near Monmouth [death of] George Griffin formerly of Lincolns Inn the last surviving son of the late Admiral G[riffin] of Hadnock House in Monmouthshire.
