Elizabeth Bowry [sic] "a mullatto woman belonging to me and living in England" was manumitted in the will of Susannah Stanley [q.v.], written in 1807 and proved in 1808.
Described in the will of Mary Strode, daughter of Henry Brouncker (written in 1811 and proved in 1813) as "a Mulatto woman formerly belonging to and in the service of my Mother and now living at Northaw"; Mary Strode bequeathed an annuity of £20 per annum to Elizabeth Bowrey for life. Northaw in Hertfordshire was the seat of Mary Strode's second husband William, who died in 1810.
In her will, written in 1813 and proved in 1820, she left half her personal property to her niece Margaret Titley of St Kitts (in default to Margaret's three children Sukey, John and William S. Titley) and the other half to Thomas Phipps of Nottingham Place, Marylebone.
