Described as of Westmorland, esq., when he married Charlotte B. Tomlinson of the same, widow, by licence, 26/3/1822. Edward James, son of James Edward Burlton and Charlotte Beckford his wife, was born 04/06/1823 and baptised 04/05/1825 in St Elizabeth, Jamaica.
Resigned as Deputy Marshal of Trelawny and St.James, 1826; was Deputy Marshal of Westmorland, St.Elizabeth and Hanover, 1827, and Returning Officer for House of Assembly election in St Elizabeth, 1825
Described as of Ashton in St Elizabeth, October 1835.
His wife and three children sailed from Black River in April 1827.
Charlotte Beckford Burlton, widow of E. Burlton, was buried at Ashton, St Elizabeth, 24/09/1858, aged 72 years.
