25th Jul 1785 - 9th May 1839
Frances Racster, daughter of "free mulatto woman" Elizabeth Hall and John Racster, was born 25/07/1785 and baptised in Kingston 18/11/1786. A sister, Sarah, was born 09/08/1787 and baptised in Kingston 20/12/1788.
Francis [sic] Racster owned 12 enslaved people in Kingston in 1817 (1 man and 11 women). At some point between 1823 and 1826 she purchased Margaret Hall, an African-born woman who had previously been registered by Mary Hall as executrix of Elizabeth Hall. Around the same time she purchased Letitia Racster, an African woman previously owned by Isabella Hall.
Frances and Sarah Racster were named as the neices of Isabella Hall, owner of Sabina Park pen in St Andrew, in her will written in 1821. Isabella and Elizabeth Hall were probably the daughters of Elizabeth Pinnock, a "free negro woman" and Oliver Hall, born in 1762 and 1768 respectively, and baptised in Kingston, Jamaica.
Miss Frances Racster, aged 52, died in Kingston, Jamaica, 09/05/1839.
