1780 - 18th Oct 1840
Eldest son of Edward Huggins of Nevis (1755-1829) (q.v.), brother of Peter Thomas Huggins (q.v.): married Jane Plastow Juxon of New Haven, where both reportedly died in 1840. Edward Huggins junior was convicted in 1812 of manslaughter after shooting dead a young enslaved man.
For a detailed but unverified family tree, see http://www.tc.umn.edu/~terre011/edward.html#edjr [accessed 04/02/2013]. The will of Edward Huggins of Nevis confirms Jane Plaistow as the wife of his son Edward Huggins [junior] and the names of their three daughters, although other genealogical sites show Edward Huggins (1780-1840) as son of James Huggins and brother of Horatio Nelson Huggins (q.v.); David Small, ‘Huggins, Edward (1755?–1829)’, Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, Oxford University Press, 2004; online edn, Jan 2008 [http://www.oxforddnb.com/view/article/53032, accessed 17 June 2014]
