Very likely to be Mary Ann Salmon, ‘a free mulatto’, born about 1791 and baptised 18/07/1806 at St Elizabeth, aged about 15 years. Her reputed father was John Salmon Esq; ‘mother Rose, a Negro belonging to White Hall Penn.’
Mary Ann Salmon registered three enslaved people in St Elizabeth in 1817 and then seven enslaved in 1832.
This is consistent with her being the Mary A. Salmon who claimed compensation for eight enslaved people in St Elizabeth at Emancipation.
