Resident of Kingston Jamaica c 1840, when he was listed as a magistrate for the City. Apparently returned to England c. 1850.
Death registered Liverpool Q1 1853; Will of Alexander Reid Scott merchant of Liverpool proved 23/04/1853. He left his estate in trust [his trustees included John White Cater of London] to liquidate it, put the proceeds in securities in England, and pay £25 p.a. to his sister Jessie Scott of Canterbury, with the remainder to his wife Eliza for life and then to their children.
Alexander Reid Scott's son Charles James Cater Scott born in Jamaica c. 1843 was a director of London & County Banking Co. in 1907 and died in 1931 leaving £58,321.
