Awardee for the Pares estate as owner-in-fee and unsuccessful claimant (again as owner-in-fee) for Cochrane's estate, both in Antigua; the compensation for the latter was paid to mortgagees. Son of Rowland Otto Baijer who was the first cousin of Baijer Otto Baijer (q.v.) and great-nephew of Rachael Warner nee Pare (q.v.).
Samuel Otto Bayer [sic] married Elizabeth Mary Edwards, daughter of Kath. Edwards [and of Zachary Bayly Edwards], at Marylebone, 19/01/1807. '[Marriages] At St. Mary-le-bone, Sam. Otto Bayer, Esq of the Island of Antigua, to Miss Edwards, eldest daughter of the late Zachary Edwards, Esq., of Jamaica.' They had a son Rowland Archibald Bayer born 09/03/1812 and baptised 09/04/1812 in St Catherine, Jamaica. Elizabeth Mary Baijer died at Dove Hall in Jamaica in 1813, while Samuel Otto Baijer of Pares estate died in Philadelphia 1835 aged 54.
The estates passed to Owen Pell (q.v.) by his marriage to Elizabeth Mary, daughter of Samuel Otto Baijer, in 1839.

The will of Samuel Otto Baijer's father Rowland Otto Baijer was proved in 1805, PROB 11/1434/204, despite Oliver's tentative suggestion that Rowland Otto Baijer was still alive in 1813 and died before 1821.
