Of Belfast, awarded the compensation for Burke's estate as owner, part of the compensation for Sawcotts as mortgagee and the compensation for a single enslaved person on Samuel Harman's estate, all on Antigua. In 1824 he had registered 154 enslaved people on an as yet unknown estate, 147 of whom had been bought from Charles Chatfield since the last registration.
Samuel Nelson was shown as West India merchant at White Linenhall Donegall Place Belfast in 1843. In 1824, Stewart & Nelson were shown as Linen Merchants ('& factors') at White Linen Hall. In 1861 Nelson, Samuel was shown as West India merchant, Linenhall, [residence] Holywood.
