Thomas Boddington the younger

Nephew of Samuel Boddington (1766-1843; q.v.), son of Thomas Boddington (1774-1862) and grandson of Benjamin Boddington (1730-1791). Thomas Boddington (1735-1821) was his great-uncle.

1. Thomas the younger inherited Samuel's wealth and was also a city merchant. He is probably best known for commissioning the stained glass windows of St. Mary's Ealing in 1864-74. He was also a collector of fine art and books: parts of his library were sold at Sotheby, Wilkinson and Hodge in 1895.

2. Among other business interests he was probably the same as a director of the Eagle Insurance Company: see report of AGM of 9 August 1861.

3. He died at Gunnersbury Lodge in 1881, the home of several of the Boddington family including his sister, Harriet Olivia Boddington who was living there with their father Thomas (1774-1862). She died 11/04/1877; her effects were administered by Thomas.
