Biography

Henry Alleyne (1808-1852), resident slave-owner on Barbados, brother of Charles Thomas Alleyne (q.v.) and son of John Forster Alleyne.

  1. Will of Henry Alleyne of St James Island of Barbados (made in 1847) proved 16/09/1856. He left his property at Hole Town, including a lumber yard, to his brother Charles Thomas Alleyne from whom he had bought it some years previously, and the interest on £3401 5s 2d in 3 1/4 per cent English stocks to his wife Mary Reeve Alleyne. He instructed his executors to sell his Lancaster estate and invest the proceeds for his wife, and after her death the income from his estate to go to his niece Charlotte Emily Alleyne and then to his brother John Forster Alleyne.
