Biography

Identified in the compensation records as a partner in Bogle, King, of Glasgow, a firm not yet identified in other sources but apparently a local partnership of George Bogle of Rosemount, Archibald Bogle of Gilmorehill, William Hamilton and David King. David King of Demerara who had been a partner in Francis Garden & Sons (q.v.) and failed in the 1810s, was presumably the same man.

  1. David King registered 17 enslaved people in 1817 in the name of 'Bogle, Robert & Co.' as the attorney of R. Bogle & Co.
