Biography

Youngest son of John Hamilton of Northpark and Helen nee Bogle. Along with his four brothers, he inherited a 1/4 share in Dunkley's estate in Vere, Jamaica, which had been bequeathed in trust for the benefit of his mother by his uncle George Bogle (1761-1813). He also has been identified as the William Hamilton partner in Robert Bogle & Co., with significant slave-ownership on British Guiana.
