1776 - 1858
Resident planter and High Sheriff of British Guiana, but born Kildare Ireland and apparently dying at Carlow. His daughter Sarah married 23/04/1835 George Loxdale (q.v.). Awarded part of the compensation with John Murray for the enslaved people on Huis T'Dieren in British Guiana as owners, and almost certainly the same man as the George Bagot in several smaller awards in British Guiana.
George Bagot registered 264 enslaved on Huis T'Dieren in lawful possession of John Murray and George Bagot.
A George Bagot was reported to have been High Sheriff of Demerara in The Times in 1867 [but cf the death-date of 1858 below].
'[Death, 1858] On the 16th Inst. [May] at Carlow, George Bagot, Esq., aged 82, many years High Sheriff of British Guiana.' '[Death, 1892] On the 17th Nov., at her residence, Campsie, Omagh, Tempe Bagot, youngest daughter of the late George Bagot, Esq., High Sheriff of British Guiana and county Kildare.'
