Edward Egan

Partner in a London firm of Oporto merchants (Kingstons, Lambert & Egan), and claimed in nom ux., with others, and counterclaimed as executor of Robert Kingston for the compensation for Claremont in British Guiana. .

1. Identified in the will of Robert Kingston of Demerara as his brother-in-law and as of Great Britain.

2. Will of Edward Egan formerly of Ussage House East Barnet but now of Grove End Road St John's Wood in the parish of St Marylebone was proved 31/03/1840. In the will (made 06/05/1837) he refers to his wife Alice [sic] Egan, to his grand-daughter Mary Egan Shawe only child of Samuel Pole Shawe and the testator's daughter Mary Shawe, and to his son Edward Egan. He left £15,000 in trust to Edward Egan and his 'friend' John Kingston of Gloucester Place, the income from which was to go to his wife Alice for her life: then £4000 was to go to his daughter Charlotte.
