Biography

Awarded the compensation for Cave Valley Settlement in Hanover Jamaica as one of three trustees for Ann Pool Ritherdon (q.v.), the grand-daughter of Dugald Campbell and Susanna Johnson, a free woman of colour.

  1. In 1841 North Savery was shown as living aged 60 Independent at Hillingdon Heath with Sarah Savery and Arabella Savery, both aged 60 Indepedent, all three not born in county. Death (April 1847) at his residence Uxbridge, Middlesex, North Naylor Savery aged 67; burial of North Naylor Savery of Uxbridge aged 67 at St Margarets Uxbridge 07/04/1847. Will of North Naylor Savery proved 18/06/1847.

  2. North Naylor Savery said of himself 'I am in the East India House' when he testified against William Jones, who was accused of stealing Savery's handkerchief, value 2s, and who was transported for life. Both Savery's co-trustee Robert Ritherdon and Ann Pool Ritherdon's father George Ritherdon were London-based employees of the East India Co.
