William Harrison

William Harrison was party to several Chancery suits c. 1807-8 concerning Eleanor Douglas: the compensation for the enslaved people on Mount Pleasant in Hanover was paid into the related suit of Douglas v Harrison in the 1830s. Although his co-defendants were largely a Liverpool nexus, it appears likely that this was the same man as as the London merchant of Lime Street, awardee for four other estates in Jamaica, whose father was the Liverpool merchant and slave trader Jonathan Harrison, who had voyages alongside William Peatt Litt, later partner with William Harrison of Lime Street.
