Clergyman, awarded part of the compensation with George Webbe Parson (q.v.) for the Parson's estate on Montserrat under a will dating from 1771, and an unsuccessful claimant, with George Webbe Parson, on an estate in St Kitts. In both cases, John Frederick Pinney was the mortgagee.
Adm. pens. at CHRIST'S, Jan. 30, 1792. S. of Edward. B. at Little Parndon, Essex. School, Walthamstow. Matric. Lent, 1792; B.A. 1796. Ord. deacon (Norwich) May 22, 1796; priest, Sept. 25, 1796. R. of Brandon with Wangford, Suffolk, 1796-38. Died Sept. 18, 1838, ‘after a long and severe illness.’ (Peile, II. 333; Clerical Guide; G. Mag., 1838, II. 665, ‘William’ only.)
BA Cantab, Rector of Brandon since 1796. Died 1838; will of Rev. William Woodley Parson Clerk of Brandon Suffolk proved 12/02/1839. In his will he left his unspecified real estate to his brother George Webbe Parson, his goods and chattels at Brandon to his eldest sister Frances Mary Parson, and to his sisters equally the claims arising from his mother's settlement, except for £10 p.a. to his housekeeper for life 'with this proviso that the estate in St Christophe makes it.'
T71/888 Montserrat No. 116 gives 'Rev. William Woodley and Geo. W. Parson'. Given as 'Rev. William Woodley' in the Parliamentary Papers for Montserrat No. 116. T71/879 St Kitts No. 751 shows 'Rev. William Woodley Parson of Brandon Suffolk and George Webbe Parson' as mortgagees-in-possession in that claim, and is correct.
