Biography

Awarded the compensation for the Belmont estate with Thomas and William Crooks as joint tenants by devise under the will of James Crooks, although the compensation was clearly then intercepted by their mortgagee John Henry Noding (q.v.).

  1. Robert Crooks (b. 1810) was a man of colour, and inherited Belmont on the death of his father in 1826.
