Biography

Awarded a share in the compensation for Golden Grove in Barbados in which his father William Grasett (q.v.) was owner-in-fee of 75 enslaved people and tenant for life of 132 more.

  1. Eton, matriculated Trinity Cambridge 1831 after beng admitted as a pensioner aged 17 13/10/1830. Born in Barbados 13/05/1813, son and heir of William Grasett. In the army, 7th Hussars, died 1847 aged 34. Brother John (1846), Elliot (1837) and probably Henry (1840). Will of William Grasett Captain in the Queen's Own Hussars or 7th Regiment of Light Dragoons of York Yorkshire proved 03/12/1847.
