Received compensation as remainderman under the will of George Metcalfe (q.v.), alongside Robert Metcalfe Atkinson, Thomas Davis, John Wilson Metcalfe and Robert Metcalfe (all of whom q.v.).
Baptised 1805 at Aysgarth, son of Thomas Metcalfe and Ann Wilson. In 1851 Edward Metcalfe aged 45 Mercer Silk born Hawes was living at Market Place South Side Hawes with wife Rose aged 34 and sons Wilson 3 and Thomas 7 months. Death of Edward Metcalfe registered Q1 1865 at Askrigg Yorks, North Riding.
Under George Metcalfe's will, the 3 tenants-in-common were Robert Atkinson 'now in Richmond', Thomas Davis of Gargrave and Isaac Metcalfe, now 'in London'. An Isaac Metcalfe, son of Thomas Metcalfe and Ann Wilson, was baptised Aysgarth Yorkshire 1799, and so would appear to be the older brother of Edward Metcalfe (and John Wilson Metcalfe and Robert Metcalfe).
