Awarded the compensation for 15 enslaved people on Grenada with John Hoyes, Richard Steele and Thomas Otway. Probably the Robert Otway reported to have died at Sidney Place Cork in 1836, a partner in John Hoyes & Co., but possibly the son.
Robert Otway b. Tipperary, went to Grenada with 44th Regiment, m. Grenada 1786, d. 11/3/1836 Sidney Place Cork, was partner in the firm John Hayes [sic] & Co., Grenada, according to a genealogical website sourced to a will in Grenada (will of Robert Otway dated 04/06/1835, Grenada Registry 04/06/1845 [sic]) and to private correspondence of the early 1900s, http://www.otway.com/family/794.html [accessed 06/02/2013].

Enslaved boy on Unity Valley Pen, Jamaica. Manumitted in 1795 by David Barclay and removed to Philadelphia, with 29 other freed persons from the estate, where he was placed under the care of Society for Improving the Condition of Free Blacks.
Document comprises 4 parts, written recto and verso across 5 folios: 1. An inventory and valuation of enslaved persons at Windsor Estate, St Elizabeth parish, Jamaica, 1814. 2. An inventory and valuation of enslaved persons at Williamsfield settlement, St Elisabeth parish, Jamaica, 1814. 3. An inventory of animals at Windsor Estate, St Elizabeth parish, Jamaica, 1814. 4. A cover note outlining the contents of the document.
