Daughter of Nicholas Lechmere (c. 1755-1817), coffee planter and Ordnance keeper in Jamaica, and 'free quadroon' Sarah Letitia Webster (1773-c. 1822). Born 12/06/1812 and baptised 15/07/1812 in Kingston, Jamaica. Inherited enslaved people in Kingston in trust from her father and probably from her mother too.

Jamaican-born widow of a prominent slave-owner; resident in Britain following the death of her husband in 1818. Accused - and acquitted - of the cruel treatment of some enslaved people whom she brought to Britain with her.

An inventory and valuation of enslaved persons at Williamsfield settlement, St Elisabeth parish, Jamaica, 1814. 3. An inventory of animals at Windsor Estate, St Elizabeth parish, Jamaica, 1814. 4. A cover note outlining the contents of the document.
