Biography

Originally, party to the Chancery suits surrounding the Blenheim and Cranbrook estates in Jamaica, into which the compensation for the enslaved people upon them was later paid: he had died before the compensation process began.

  1. Administration of the will of Adolphus Moffatt Bayard [made in London 21/07/1820] [formerly] Lieutenant in the 15th Kings Hussars [but late] of Bridlington Yorkshire was granted 22/10/1827 to his brother Edward Kent Leopold Bayard. In the will he left all his property including his inheritance from his grandfather Andrew Moffatt and his 'uncle' [probably in fact his great-uncle] James Moffatt to his mother, Martha Bayard (q.v.), who in the event predeceased him.
