London banker, partner in Bosanquet Anderdon (q.v.) and with his partners awarded the compensation for three awards on Nevis, including for the enslaved people on Clifton, Payne's and Morton's Bay and Meales estates.
Retired from the banking firm in 1865. Elected Governor of the Canada Company November 1838 (Port Franks in Ontario is named after him).
Charles Franks of 73 Lombard Street invested in the British American Land Company in 1835. he had two votes so purchased between 15 and 30 shares at £50 each.
Married Judy Nicholl in London in 1820. In Marylebone for the baptisms of his first three daughters Georgiana Judy (1821), Catherine Ann (1823) and Mary Cecilia (1824). At Cumberland Street for the baptism of Charles William (1825) and 27 Cumberland Street for the baptism of Charles and Julia Jane in 1826.
