Henry Josias Stracey

Awarded the compensation for the enslaved people Prospect on St Vincent with Charles Heaton Ellis (q.v) as trustees of Henry Josias Stracey's sister Emily or Emma Louisa Reece née Stracey, former wife of Charles Struth deceased and wife of Charles Cuthbert Harrison.

1. Baptised August 1802 St Marylebone son of [Sir] Josias Henry and Diana Stracey née Scott.

2. At the marriage of Charles Struth and Emma Louisa Stracey (a minor) at St Marylebone 15/04/1820, Josias Henry Stracey gave consent as her natural and lawful father.  

3. Sir Henry Josias Stracey 5th bart., succeeded his father (1771-1855) in 1855.  Will of Sir Henry Josias Stracey of Rackheath Park Norfolk who died 07/08/1885 proved 24/02/1886, effects £20,198 15s 5d, resworn  £20,341 13s 2d April 1888.

T71/892 St Vincent no. 505, counterclaim from Charles Ellis Heaton for self and cotrustee H.J. Stracy, for arrears of annuity of £300 a year for wife of Charles Struth Esq under marriage settlement, claim for £525. The compensation records how her as Emily Louisa.
