William Grasett

Awarded the compensation for two estates in Barbados, Golden Grove and (probably) Fisher Pond.

1. William Grasett widower married Eliza Barrow [of Holt Park Kent] at St Marylebone 26/03/1818. Children of William and Eliza: Anne and Henry (baptised Oxted 1821); Henry (Brasted sic Kent 1822); Emma (Speldhurst Kent 1824); Frances (Tunbridge Wells 1825). Marriage of Rebecca Worrell Grasett daughter of William Grasett married George Elliott Clarke son of Fo[r]ster Clarke St Pancras 05/04/1838. Elliot Grasett son of William Grasett married Georgiana Marjoribanks St Marylebone 03/08/1848. Death of William Grassett [sic]  registered Q2 1841 Sevenoaks Kent.

2. Will of William Grasett [late of the island of Barbados but now residing at Ovendon of in the parish] of Sundridge Kent [made in 1839] proved 06/05/1841. He left £4000 each to his two daughters Elizabeth Hinds Grasett and Katherine Ann Grasett. He left £5000 each to his sons Elliot, Henry and John and his daughters Ann, Emma and Frances. He left his real estate in Britain and Barbados to his eldest son William for life and then to the latter's heirs.

3. William Grasett was a member of the Council in Barbados before moving to England: his first wife died 07/12/1816. His address was given as of Barbados and Ovendon House Sevenoaks on the marriage of his daughter in 1838.

4. William Grasett 2nd son of Eliot of Barbados (and born there) admitted as pensioner Pembroke Cambridge 06/11/1792 aged 17, matriculated 1793, BA 1797, MA 1800. Of Ovenden House Sevenoaks. Father of Elliot, John, William and probably Henry (1840).
