Owned enslaved people in Barbados which had reverted to her on the death of her husband at some point between 1832 and 1834.
Four children were baptised to George William and Rebecca Johannis Ashby in Barbados: Sarah Ann (1822, St Lucy), Arthur Cadogan (1824, St Lucy), George McCollin (1826, St Michael) and Dorothy Rebecca (1829, St Michael).
Rebecca Joanna Ashby of Two Mile Hill was buried in St Michael, Barbados 04/03/1856 aged 54 years.
